Perry’s tax cuts would be great for the rich. How big?

Perry's "Cut, balance, and grow" fiscal platform will be a great tax deduction in the opulent rich. This will cut taxes for some of the working poor. And it also will add trillions of deficits.

Texas Governor Rick Perry said he wanted to cut taxes for everyone and to balance the budget. It may be impossible to do both. Unfortunately, Perry's new fiscal plan may fail in each.

But just how far short he falls depends on what you are measuring against plan. I was an American professional basketball player who was quite feasible before my knee gave out — relative to others in the gym. But compared with Kobe Bryant, not so much.
